Overview: Sponsor Eligibility Criteria in 2026

To sponsor a domestic worker on a personal visa in the UAE, employers must demonstrate financial capability and adequate living conditions. Under MOHRE guidelines, sponsors generally must have a minimum monthly income of AED 10,000 (or AED 25,000 if sponsoring multiple domestic workers or specialized staff). Both UAE Nationals and expatriate residents holding valid residency visas are eligible to apply through authorized Tadbeer centers.

Primary Employer Identification & Financial Documents

When opening a hiring file at a Tadbeer center, the sponsor must present: (1) Original valid Emirates ID of the sponsor, (2) Passport and UAE residency visa copy with at least 6 months validity, (3) Official salary certificate from a mainland employer or Free Zone authority (or 3 to 6 months stamped personal bank statements for business owners and investors), and (4) Valid attested marriage certificate for families sponsoring female domestic workers.

Residential Proof: Ejari (Dubai) or Tawtheeq (Abu Dhabi)

Proper residential accommodation is mandatory to verify that the domestic worker will have private, dignified living quarters. In Dubai, a valid attested Ejari contract (minimum 2-bedroom for maid living quarters) or title deed is required. In Abu Dhabi, an attested Tawtheeq tenancy contract is required. In Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, attested municipal lease agreements or title deeds must be provided.

Worker Documents & Entry Processing

For Package 1 candidates recruited from abroad: (1) Valid passport of the domestic worker (minimum 6 months validity), (2) Pre-departure medical fitness report from an approved clinic in the country of origin, (3) Background police clearance, and (4) Full-length profile photographs. The Tadbeer center submits these to generate the official electronic Entry Permit (Pink Visa).

Post-Arrival Medical Screening, Emirates ID & Visa Stamping

Within 30 days of the domestic worker's arrival in the UAE, the sponsor and Tadbeer center must complete three mandatory in-country procedures: (1) Communicable disease medical fitness screening (blood test and chest X-ray for TB, HIV, and Hepatitis B) at a government health center, (2) Biometrics registration at an ICP Emirates ID center, and (3) Medical insurance policy issuance followed by domestic worker residency visa stamping.
